St. Vincent’s Blount Hospital

St. Vincent’s Blount is a 40-bed general medical and surgical hospital located in Oneonta, AL.  At this facility, they offer Transitional Care, a skilled nursing rehab program designed to provide you with compassionate sub-acute care and physical rehabilitation when you have been in the hospital but are not yet well enough to go home.

What You Will Do

Sleep is essential to one’s health.  As our Polysomnographic Technologist, you will work directly with patients who have sleep difficulties performing basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies. Your work can offer patients relief and finally provide them a full night's sleep!  

You will:

  • Prepares patient and equipment for ordered testing. Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
  • Performs and documents testing. Monitors patient throughout testing and intervenes as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
  • Collect, analyze and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs; scores, interprets and reports results of sleep studies.
  • Prepares, calibrates, repairs and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs/replacements.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. 
    • One or more of the following:
      • Reg Polysomnographic Technologist credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
      • Sleep Technician obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 

Education:

  • Diploma 
    • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience or
    • Associate's degree, or Technical degree required

Work Experience:

  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist with 1 or more years of experience preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
